Is your AutoCAD Optimized for you?

Runtime Installation Instructions

In order to run any software created by CadPrograms.ca you must have the latest runtime installed.

This file serves as the framework for all other programs to build on.

Download the latest installer from http://cadprograms.ca/RuntimeDownload.php

To Install The Runtime:

Make sure AutoCAD is not running.

Double-click (or right-click choosing administrator) on the executable Installer.

(Depending on your settings and operating system you may have to acknowledge a UAC and/or a signature warning.)

Although it is possible with the wizard to install to an alternate directory, it is not recommended. There are many subsequent functions

that depend on C:\CadPrograms\Runtime being the install directory and if you browse to a different location the install will not complete

successfully. If you need to install to an alternate directory please let us know and we will provide detailed instructions on how to proceed.

As the notice suggests; if you are already using an acad.lsp for other purposes, this install will conflict with your file.

Install will list the locations that it copied the file to.

Check For Success

Start AutoCAD and type 'runtime' at the command line. (without the quotes) If the installation succeeded, AutoCAD will return the

version number of the runtime that is installed.

Note: For updating purposes, the binary file is also available if you want to manually overwrite the single file in your install directory.

(C:\ CadPrograms\Runtime) however it will never harm anything to re-install using the full installer.

Installing your custom program:

Make sure AutoCAD is not running.

If you have opted for an installer package, you will have downloaded or received an executable file (YourProgram.exe).

Double-click this file and your custom files will be installed to the same location as the runtime files. This location has already been added

to your AutoCAD support paths during install and anything listed in the “LoadFiles.dat” file in that directory will be loaded as well.

You will notice that “YourProgram” will be listed in this file.
